Going The Extra Mile
There is one sure way to get what you want in life, but few people actually do it. Put this practice firmly into your day to day business activities and you will have an advantage over the rest of the crowd. Successful people realize their life long dreams by doing things that most people are not willing to do. If you can just do what is needed instead of what you want to do, you can accomplish a lot. People that get what they want in business don't just give 100% each day. When the day is through and you've done your best, it is now time to make the extra effort to accomplish one more small goal or to finish the day's original goal. 'Going the extra mile' does not require a massive effort on your part. If you put forth only 5% of your daily effort, a small goal is easily attained. Doing this only three days a week can produce impressive results by the end of the month. Do you have a problem getting things done? Then don't be satisfied with another day gone and your goal not met. Put forth that small extra effort on a regular basis and you will begin reaching your goals. Going the extra mile is part of a small business success mindset. It's your business, you are ultimately responsible for the results. Setting deadlines for yourself and writing down your goals makes it easier to go the extra mile. You can see on paper the goal set for that day. Many times you will see that by the end of the day you are very close to meeting your goal. You can now go your extra mile because you know it is only going to take a small amount of extra effort. Going the extra mile will enable you to reach more of your goals. This allows you to 'raise the bar' on your new goals, creating growth in your business. Growth does wonders for your attitude and makes the road to success more enjoyable. What's the bottom line on going the extra mile? More signups for your network marketing business. More sales for your infoproduct business. And you'll get what you want a lot faster when you are willing to do what others are not. Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow Recently a person attended one of my goal setting seminars with a different kind of focus; I will call him Richie. After hearing his story I discovered that in fact he did have a new outlook on life; and goals attached. Ability, Motivation, and Attitude "Ability is what you're capable of doing. Motivation determines what you do. Attitude determines how well you do it." If you are going to create something new in your life ? in your career, your relationships and your creative endeavors you will be walking into unknown territory. Learning how to navigate this territory effectively and with power is what makes the difference between having a full, rich experience of life and work you enjoy, relishing the adventure of every day or living in frustration wondering why the same thing keeps occurring repeatedly. ADHD - Its a Wonderful Life As I usually do over the Holidays, I watched one of my all-time favorite actors in one of my all time favorite movies and that's Jimmy Stewart in "It's a Wonderful Life". Co-starring Donna Reed and made in the 1940s, the movie was not critically acclaimed at the time, but over the years has become a stable of the Holiday Season. If you have not seen it, you need to, and if you have, then you all know it revolves around a small town businessman George Bailey from Bedford Falls, New York, who, as he grows up, has all of these dreams of doing wonderful things with his life, and hopes of traveling to all the farthest points in the world. His plans are constantly interrupted by world events and family circumstances, which include the death of his father, the great depression, and World War II. George's father and his Uncle Billy years earlier had started the Baileys Brothers Building and Loan to help the less fortunate people of Bedford Falls obtain the great American Dream of home ownership. Their only alternative is high rent or exorbitant interest rates to the local scrooge Mr. Potter. Uncle Billy is a classic ADHD type individual. Self Confidence : The Importance of Will-Power The importance of will-power is recognized by most men, yet few deliberately give any time or thought to its development. Why we resist one thing and yield to another may be due to "the strongest motive," but what more particularly concerns us in the study of self-confidence is in what way this mighty power can be built and directed. Why Do 9 Out of 10 People Never Live Their Dreams? When we were kids we all had dreams. There were no boundaries to our imagination and anything was possible. Do you remember your dreams? Commit to Doing 80% Instead of trying to be perfect, it is better to do your best, and often your best doesn't look like going all out all the time. This is especially true when you are making changes in your life. Instead of setting yourself up for disappointment and failure, allow yourself some room to breathe and not be perfect.
