Broken Sleep
For the past several weeks, I have not been sleeping well. I've been waking up after 4 or 5 hours, tossing and turning for the rest of the night. I have tried to think peaceful thoughts and hoped that I would go back to sleep quickly, but instead I found myself trying to solve numerous problems in my life. Finally, I asked a friend for help. This friend has practiced Deliberate Attraction a lot longer than I have. I wondered if she had an insight as to why my sleep has been so broken. And what I might do differently. Here is what she shared with me (my paraphrase): Waking up during the night gives me a chance to focus on what I am most wanting while my soul has been in a state of 'non-resistance' (asleep). This truth resonated within me. I figured that if I could keep my focus on what I am wanting instead of all the barriers I see in the way, then maybe I would not feel like I had been in a battle all night. What I am wanting is to have the freedom to live near the ocean. I have lived on the Canadian prairies for over 30 years and I am homesick for the beach and the ocean (I grew up in Southern California). During my wakeful night hours, I was rehearsing all the events that would have to take place before I could have the freedom to make a major move and I was trying to solve all those problems and figure out a way through the barriers. Now, I made a decision to focus on what I am wanting---to live near the ocean. And to help me maintain my focus in the middle of the night, I decided to take a seashell to bed with me. Every time I wake up, I put my focus and my hand on the seashell and promptly fall asleep again. After the first good night of sleep, I distributed my seashell collection throughout the whole house. I had lots of fun making little scenes and arrangements. Now, everywhere I turn, all day long and all night long, I have constant physical and visual reminders of what I am wanting. And now I am sleeping throughout the night! The way I see it, my work is to keep my focus unhindered. It's god's job to deliver what I am wanting in the way and time that is perfect! Six Keys to build vision (overview and point one) Have you ever considered why some things succeed and others fail? Well the answer is in those few words. "What is success, and what is failure?" Organizing Your Goals We all have goals and dreams that we want to accomplish-some big, some small. But until we can organize a plan on how to pursue these goals and dreams, we may never reach our final destination or possibly even start. Goals can help us to feel more confident and fulfilled. They can give us direction and help us to make decisions. Goal setting can help us to feel more organized. Set Your Mind To Win! Have you ever heard someone say, I could do it if I could just set my mind to it. Have you ever uttered these words, even just to yourself? One Single Secret to Goal Setting Success Perhaps you have never taken a stock of the most valuable and precious wealth of yours. Every person possesses it since the day of birth. This wealth is our life, its minutes, hours, days and years. Proper planning starts when we begin to take stock of this wealth. So, we should make the most efficient use of every minute to preserve and multiply this wealth. The initial stage of planning is identifying and setting your major life goals. Plan, Prioritize, Play 10 Strategic Ways To Be Time Rich And Stress Free 1. Retrain your self-talk, to remove selfish from your vocabulary and replace it with self-care. In order for you to take care of the people you love you need to take care of yourself first. Friends, family, loved ones look to you as a model, make sure to model self-care, taking time to play, relax, and read. This is especially important for parents; this will give your children the confidence to have the same healthy behaviors. Commitment A true commitment is a heart felt promise to yourself, from which you will NOT back down, no matter what the circumstances may be! Is that W-A-L-R-U-S? A few years back, I went to London, England. I needed to get a passport-like photo taken, but the machine I wanted to use was out of order. When I called the company who owned the machine, I asked where they had another location. I was told, "Walrus." "Walrus?" I confirmed. "Walrus," was the response. I should have asked for the spelling, but the person had said, "Walrus." I asked around, and no one knew where there was a "Walrus" until, that is, someone realized that "Walrus" was "Woolworth's." Apparently, the person I spoke with and I both thought we were saying the same thing ? but boy, were we not! Creating the Best Year of Your Life At the end of each year, and on their birthdays, many people take time to reflect and look ahead. If you're one of these people, or if you would like to start getting the benefits from a little self reflection, then I have some great questions for you. Is There An Anxiety Solution For Those Who Fail To Keep Their Resolutions? In a nutshell... YES! On Achievement If a comatose person were to earn an interest of 1 million USD annually on the sum paid to him as compensatory damages ? would this be considered an achievement of his? To succeed to earn 1 million USD is universally judged to be an achievement. But to do so while comatose will almost as universally not be counted as one. It would seem that a person has to be both conscious and intelligent to have his achievements qualify. Four Steps to Goal Setting When setting goals it is important to know if the goal is realistically attainable. Time is precious; you don't want to waste it moving toward a goal that you will never be able to realize. So, how can you quickly evaluate the attainability of your goal? Ask your-self these four questions: Dont Mistake Activity For Achievement I remember watching an NBA Basketball Game on t.v one night. The Miami Heat were playing the New Orleans Hornets. Miami was all over them yet when you looked at the score New Orleans kept pulling ahead. Show Me The Money For many people, money is like the weather ? they talk about it, but don't do anything about it. But making more money is not just about working longer hours or working harder. If your goal is to have more money, achieving it is about achieving your vision. Set Goals In Life It is important to set goals in life. To accomplish those goals, you need a healthy supply of energy. Even the best car cannot run without fuel, so how can your body work without energy? The more energy you have, the further you can "ride" in this life. Unfortunately, the body's energy cannot be obtained through an electric outlet or at a gas pump. Instead, it can be obtained from many different sources. Define Success Have you ever asked yourself why you want to succeed online? Got Purpose? Part 2 I guess I found some hot buttons last week eh? Thanks for a week full of real good feedback. GOALS The Power Line to Success and Achievement WHY DO WE NEED GOALS? Lifes Values Over time I have come to realize that the three most important subjects in the world to man are sex, property and religion. By the first we create life, by the second we maintain life and by the third we hope to continue life in the world to come. But I have also come to realize that it is not our sex, our interests swarm about our own egos, self-worth or self-esteem. Make Your Dreams Reachable All too often, we may be envisioning a level of success, which is far beyond what we can realistically accept and thus fall short of full manifestation. However, if we can envision a period of time in which our success can gradually increase, quite often our subconscious can more easily accept it. However, allowing ourselves to get comfortably accustomed to a steadily increasing flow of abundance in our lives tends to stabilize it for us. How to Handle Getting Caught Off Guard I remember the time that I swore to myself that I'd never be caught off guard again. I was in my new job on Capital Hill and it was the first week on the job. My new mentor at the office was the daughter of the other US Senator from Nevada so she knew everyone who was anyone. I tagged along with her one day to a meeting and I found myself in a mess! |
