Multiple Social Security BeneficiariesBlur Lorena Supplemental Security Income SSI is a federal program run by Social Security Administration that gives a monthly income to people with disabilities, blind, or who are 65 or older with limited income and property. Recipients must be a U.S. citizen or a national with countable income below the federal benefit rate or FBR. Recipients are grouped into children age 17 and younger, working age ages 18 to 64, and elderly age 65 and older. Different policy issues and rules apply to various age groups. There are disability screens for children and working-age applicants while elderly must pass the income and asset screens to qualify regardless of whether they are disabled. This program does not limit the number of recipients living in the same house. There are three types of households: one-recipient households, households with two married SSI recipients and no other recipients, and households with multiple recipients other than married couple recipients, also known as the noncouple multirecipient NCM households. Different economies of scale arise from these categories. Two different surveys about SSI recipients were conducted by the SIPP or the Survey of Income and Program Participation and Social Security Administration. Both have the same analysis and records indicating that one out of five SSI recipients live with one, or more, SSI recipient who is not a spouse. Nonmarried-couple recipients living in the same household is guaranteed the full individual federal benefit rate while married couple recipients are guaranteed with 150 percent of the FBR for individuals. This means that relationships between SSI members and other members of the household do not affect benefit payments unless they are married couples living in the same household. Children are most likely to live in an NMC household. Current program rules concerning NCMs assesses the sensitivity of distributional outcomes to the unit of observation, the timeframe of income measurement, and the scale used to measure poverty. Assumption imbedded in the SSI benefit formula drives the lower prevalence of poverty among NMCs as compared with married couples. Poverty is more prevalent in individuals who do not live with another SSI recipient than the NCMs or married couples. Individual SSI recipients living alone have high prevalence of poverty. Poverty is reduced among recipients living with nonrecipients because of the total income received by the household. Economies of scale result from family or household size, marital status, and other factors. In measuring the effects of SSI program rules on poverty among SSI recipients, it is appropriate to use either the federal or the three-parameter poverty yardstick.

Government Overregulation of Broadcast Content Could Backfire Rush is right! The governments stepped up bid to regulate broadcast television content is indeed frightening. Limbaugh made his comments during one of his regular radio broadcasts last year. Those remarks were in response to the FCCs crackdown on broadcast indecency and Congress threats to hand out much larger fines to broadcasters for such violations, in the wake of Janet Jacksons "wardrobe malfunction" at the Super Bowl halftime show last February. Legal Protection for Same-Sex Couples Has anyone considered a compromise solution to the issue of legalization of same-sex marriages Plaintiff Funding Plaintiff Funding is a controversial new finance area in which a plaintiff secures funding based strictly on the potential financial recovery from his or her pending legal claim.Similar to securing a mortgage against your home, a plaintiff can receive a cash advance against the potential future proceeds from a legal claim. There are no income or employment verifications and if the legal claim has no financial recovery, then the plaintiff is NOT obligated to repay the money. Litigation Funding Litigation Funding offers financial resources to plaintiffs that are the victims of personal injury by the negligent acts of another. It is simple reality in the United States legal system that financial strength plays a significant role in the ultimate settlement or judgment amount of legal claims.Fortunately there are litigation funding companies like Global Financial http://www.glofin.com that offer funding services to Plaintiffs which can help level the playing field with deep pocketed defendants. Stopping Home Foreclosure A Foreclosure Prevention Service has numerous ways it can help you deal with the foreclosure process. Under the law, you have a right to remain in the property for a certain period of time. Protect yourself and your family. How the Jury System Should be Reformed Our current jury system is ailing. It is beginning to fail us. O.J. Simpson being found not guilty is just one example of that problem. People with loads of evidence against them are found not guilty, while others with far less evidence against them are found guilty. Mass murderers are often sentenced to life in prison, while many others who commit just one murder are sentenced to death. People tried separately for the same crime often get much different verdicts and/or much different sentences. I know the Constitution guarantees the accused a right to a jury of his or her peers, but times have changes over the last 200-plus years and we need to make adjustments accordingly. There are two changes I would suggest we make as soon as possible. The Hidden Danger of the So-Called "Right to Die" In October of 2003, the case of 39-year-old Terri Schiavo once again brought into focus the debate over the so-called "right to die." The Florida woman was temporarily removed from her feeding tube via a court order received by husband, but was put back on it a few days later when the Florida legislature authorized Governor Jeb Bush to issue a stay. As of this writing, her fate is still being debated in the courts and her case might now be headed for the U.S. Supreme Court. But I wonder if the right to die is something we really want I always shudder a bit when politicians start talking about giving me more rights. Rights have a funny way of morphing into obligations.
