The Art of Scripting Your Life
Writing a 'life script' is like writing a movie script. You need to create a feeling, evoke emotional responses and create the scenarios. You dream up the story, you write the lines and act it out. Why? Because you have the ability to create your life as you would like it to be. So many people live their life with the concept that they play whatever hand is dealt them. This can feel un-empowering, depressing and instill feelings of resignation and pain. You have so much more to do with your life plan than you realize. What is a life script? It is the written version of the story about your WANTS that is so vivid and real that you can see/feel/taste/touch it as you think about it and write it. In other words, it's the written story of your life as you desire it to be. What is the purpose? Scripting your life gives your life direction, meaning and purpose. Scripting bring pure positive energy to that which you desire. It is the act of co-creating with a Higher Power. We aren't here to just live our lives according to fate and putting out one fire after another. We have the ability and inherent power to create the life we choose. It's like putting your order in to the Universe. If you go to a restaurant you don't eat whatever they decide to bring you- you place your order! This process is very similar. It follows the principle of "Energy follows Thought." If you give enough of your thoughts and attention to a particular set of circumstances or outcome, then the energy fuels that creative form. By writing the script the way we choose, we create our life as we want it. It takes conscious focus, intention and attention however. Just writing a script isn't enough. You need to read it every day, think about it, feel yourself living it everyday? and feel passionate about it! The more you can feel yourself living the new role, the more the energy creates it in your life. Your Life Script becomes your everyday intention to create extraordinary results in your life. It sounds complicated, but it's very simple. Perhaps the most challenging part is making the daily commitment to know that you are already living your new life script. This process involves determination, attention to detail and feeling the feelings. Feeling how it feels to move forward and live your life in a new way is powerful and exciting. You have all the tools you need to create your life the way you want it to be. So why not take the initiative and step into your new role as co-creator? Why 'co-creator'? Because you partner WITH the Universe to create the new life you want. No longer are you just living whatever is handed to you as a child of the Universe. You step into an adult role, taking new levels of responsibility for your life. You become the writer. You are no longer just the actor taking directions from the Director; you begin to create the direction yourself! This is truly an exercise in self empowerment. Taking the leap to create your future is how you step into your full potential. © 2005 Jodie Foster Jodie Foster is an Intuitive Counselor who assists clients to create extraordinary transformations in their everyday lives. How To Become More Patient "Lord give me patience ? and hurry!" Were Good at the Things We Like Read that again. It doesn't say "We like the things we're good at," though that's true as well. No, it says we're good at the things we like. That statement was made to me just today in reference to something I hate to do and am not very good at. I just nodded, thinking I'd heard it the other way around, or that my sister had said it backwards. Then she repeated it and said, "It works the other way around, too, but we're good at the things we like." Raising The Bar One of the most popular events in the Olympics is the pole vault event. We all watch with amazement and anticipation as the competitor runs full speed down the track with a long pole in his hands. Then the jumper hangs on for dear life as he lowers the pole downwards into a hole that propels him high up in the air, high enough to clear the bar just in front of him. The jumper then has a soft landing on his back ready to jump even higher the next time. Why You Should Write Your Obituary Today Writing your own obituary sounds and feels a little strange, I know. If the idea doesn't appeal to you, try pretending that you have just won an award and the newspaper is doing a feature story on your accomplishments. By recording what you wish to be remembered or acknowledged for, you will be able to pinpoint the values you would like to live by. And, by identifying your life's values you will be more able to live them now and in the future. The Top Five Great Reasons to Delay Pursuing Your Dream 1. Trust Your Intuition! How many times have you been faced with a decision to make and all of a sudden you get this feeling of instinctively knowing what you must do? Something inside you is telling you the difference between what you should do and what you are meant to do. Many people interpret this as a hunch, a gut feeling or having an inkling. If It Feels Good, It Must Be Right Copyright © 2003 Priya Shah Nurturing Your Vision There is a new television show, called Blind Justice that will be replacing NYPD Blue. The show follows a Detective who, at the prime of his life and career, loses his vision in a heroic attempt to thwart a bank robbery and save other police lives. The shooting of this Detective results in his losing his eyesight/vision. He refuses the "disabled" label and sues to get his job back. The show doesn't premier until a week or two from now, so I know no more about it. What immediately struck me as I watched the promo for this new TV show was the idea of losing one's vision. Not physically becoming blind, but losing the vision we once had for our lives. Pushing Through Your Comfort Zone Our greatest growth in life comes from pushing through our present comfort zone. This process starts at birth. A baby feels safe, warm and secure in its mother's womb. However, to stay there much longer than the gestation period would mean certain death for both the mother and child. Life began for all of us as we left the comfort and security of the womb and faced the strange and unfamiliar world outside. Our first breath is often a painful experience, a cry of protest at temporary discomfort. Yet without this experience, our life would be fleetingly short. Stained Glass Windows Elizabeth Kubler Ross once said, "People are like stained glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun comes out, but when the darkness sets in, their beauty is revealed only if there is light on from within." Top 10 Tips For The Best Year of Your Life! We typically think of New Year's as the time to make annual resolutions and start fresh. Unfortunately, we all know that most resolutions are quickly forgotten. The good new is that "now" is always the best time to take charge of your future and create the life you want. Real success is about choosing your priorities, and then following a plan that emphasizes the things that are most important to you. With that in mind, here are 10 suggestions for creating a wonderful, productive and rewarding year for yourself (and your practice)! How to Make it Big In Spite of Your Challenges Imagine for a moment it's five years from now and you are still making the same income (or just a little more), living in the same home or apartment. You are in debt. You are barely supporting yourself and your family. And you are frustrated with the way things are. Are You Suffering from the Autopilot Dilemma? An epidemic is occurring all around you, and there is a good chance it has already found its way into your life. It begins slowly at first, nearly imperceptible. But it grows. In time it can take over your entire life. I have seen it happen too many times, and if you don't act now, it may happen to you. Our Future I'm back from Hawaii; it was ten days of physical and emotional mastery. We went from learning from twenty of the planets best speakers in their field, to being pushed physically with a fifty foot pole climb, and then, flying fifteen feet like a free bald eagle to a hanging trapeze. These were some of the most invigorating experiences of my life. Danger In The Comfort Zone I don't know who said it or where I heard it, but I'm sure it was brought to my attention by a sales trainer somewhere, at some time during my journey through the maze of countless sales trainings and seminars that I have attended over the years, but it does make perfect sense. The ONE Question Winners ALWAYS Ask?. Over the past several years I have experienced my fair share of success. However, it has not been without its fair share of obstacles and setbacks. I was reflecting upon this recently as I confronted a recent disappointment. Hundreds of emotions raced through my mind as the reality set in that my deepest plans and desires were not going to reach my goals. You Want Me to Do What? Most of the time whenever we need to make an important business decision we turn to what is convenient or comfortable. Why is it that we never seem to want to venture out and try new things. Is it the fact that we know what to expect when using our current vendor(s), even if they aren't the best at what they do? What Is Failing Forward? What an absurd statement! Absurd or not, progress is not possible without failure. It is part of being an evolving and growing human being. Ten Major Causes of Failure -Lack of a specific purpose in life. You can not hope to succeed in any field of your life if you don't have a central purpose. If you don't have a definite goal in your life then you will jump from one activity to another with no success. Almost 97% of people think and act this way. That's why successful people, who have a clear goal in their life, are very few. I Give Up! How to NOT Say Those Words! Boy, I tell you....it seems the world is just going crazy these days! The economy is going haywire, the war is started, and things just seem to be out of control! |
